Corvallis, OR-- Only one game into the regular season and signs of improvements have already begun to show in Oregon State's offense.

The Beavers who were near the middle to bottom of the pack in offensive statistics in the PAC-12 just a season ago, scored the fourth most points out of all PAC-12 teams in week one. Combine that with a 13 out of 20 on third down conversions, a perfect five-for-five in the red zone, zero turnovers and you've got yourself a pretty good start to the season.

"I think from a first game stand-point there are a lot of positives," said offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren. "To go in there and not turn the ball over. I think that's something that we pointed out to the guys that we were first game wise pretty happy with."

Part of the reason the Beavers had such a great day began up-front. Oregon State's O-line held the Cowboys to only one sack throughout the game. Giving quarterback Jake Luton plenty of time to sling the ball down-field.

"I think they did a fantastic job from start to finish," Luton explained. "I think that having some experience helps. You know bringing back Blake and Gus. I think that they all did a good job."

Oregon State understands that they will need some of that consistent protection if they want to win against Hawaii this Saturday.

"They look good," said Luton. "They showed against Arizona that they are playing ball really well. They've got a high-powered offense and defensively they've got some guys that can make some plays. They are gonna go out there and do their best and so will we."
