Motorcycle officer hit by car in downtown Eugene

The officer was taken to the hospital, but their injuries were not life threatening.

EUGENE, Ore. – Police are responding to downtown Eugene after a motorcycle officer was hit by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon.

It happened in the area of 10th Avenue and Jefferson Street at about 2:30 p.m.

Police said a driver making a lane change hit an officer as both were driving south on Jefferson Street.

The officer was taken to the hospital, but their injuries were not life threatening. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Investigators are looking into the crash.
