EUGENE/SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- If you currently have any illegal explosives/fireworks, you can turn them without getting cited during Illegal Fireworks Amnesty Day on Sunday.

Beginning at 8 a.m., anyone can turn in their illegal fireworks at the parking lot on 2nd Avenue and Chambers Street.

The event is only open to individuals and not commercial parties.

The Eugene Metro Bomb Squad said do not bring your fireworks to a police or fire station.

However, if you can't make it to the event, you can call Eugene police's non-emergency line, and they will help you find a way to properly get rid of illicit explosives.

The event goes until 4 p.m.
