EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon Folklife Network has been awarded a $45,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
The grant supports the Oregon Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program and other statewide initiatives to promote folk and traditional artists.
Oregon Folklife Network is now accepting applications for the apprenticeship program. It offers master artists and culture keepers a $3,500 stipend to teach their art form to others in the community.
The network encourages applications from Oregonians practicing cultural traditions relating to their heritage or tribes. The network is a University of Oregon program.
