CRESWELL, Ore. – Some of the 61 horses seized from a property near Creswell in October have been released, the Oregon Humane Society said.

A total of 15 of the horses taken from Gwenyth Davies’ property have been released, according to Laura Klink with the Oregon Humane Society in Portland. Four of those have been picked up by their owners.

The remaining 46 horses are still in custody as part of the ongoing investigation. Klink said they are being evaluated regularly by veterinarians to determine when they can be released from evidence status.

More horses are expected to be released in the coming days, Klink said.

Davies was cited for second-degree animal neglect, a felony.
