Eugene, Ore. -- Highly touted freshman linebacker Justin Flowe will be out for the remainder of the Oregon Ducks 2020 football season due to a torn meniscus. On Tuesday, Flowe posted to his Instagram an announcement from his high school football coach in Upland, California.
"Prayers for my boy [Justin Flowe]," the post said. "Torn meniscus will have him out for the rest of the season. Surgery tomorrow and from there we’re back to work!! Minor setback for a major comeback. #scoducks"
Flowe recorded one tackle in the Ducks opener against Stanford, primarily getting playing time with the special teams unit. The linebacker did travel to Washington State but was unavailable for the game. Heading into the season, Flowe was seen as one of the top recruits of the 2020 class, checking in as the no. 6 overall prospect in the nation. He drew comparisons to NFL linebacker Rueben Foster and came to Oregon despite offers and heavy recruiting from Clemson and USC.
KEZI 9 Sports is still awaiting comment on the injury or Flowe's status from Oregon football.
