SALEM, Ore. -- Oregon's public awareness campaign on face coverings is going nationwide.

The "A Mask is Just a Mask" campaign aims at uniting Americans on the importance of wearing face coverings to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

It first began airing in Oregon back in July on social media. It speaks directly to people about how individual decisions can impact the COVID-19 health crisis and clarifies the reasons for wearing a mask.

Governor Brown announced the campaign is in collaboration with ad agency Wieden+Kennedy and DIRECTV. Wieden+Kennedy is providing creative services at no cost to the state and DIRECTV is covering the costs of airing the ad campaign.
