PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Oregon Department of Transportation is moving forward with plans to toll parts of Interstate 5 and Interstate 205.

The tolls would be on a seven mile stretch of Interstate 5 through Portland -- and on Interstate 205 across the Abernethy bridge south of Portland.

ODOT is submitting an application for review in Salem -- it could then be sent to the Federal Highway Administration.

According to ODOT tolling could help ease congestion. Tolls could take several years to be put in place.
