Eugene, OR -- Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal was pleased with what he saw in Saturday's fall scrimmage.
"I think Johnny Johnson is a guy that really stood out today," Cristobal said. "The guy made a lot of plays. Not only when he has the ball in his hands. But when he doesn't the guy is down the field hustling, making great blocks. But he really just stepped up. He really did. I thought he had a really good day. Overall just very pleased with the effort, the intensity. I want to grade the film and see a little bit more detail."
It wasn't all good news for the Ducks. Freshman standout wide receiver Mycah Pittman suffered a shoulder injury after making a diving grab in the scrimmage.
"Mycah Pittman did lay out for a ball and landed on his shoulder," Cristobal said. "He's getting evaluated. He landed on it pretty good."
Other freshman wide receiver JR Waters will also be out several weeks after a procedure to repair a leg injury.
Cristobal also hopes to return tight end Jacob Breeland to practice this week.
Oregon will open its season against Auburn on August 31 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
