SALEM, Ore. – There are 142 more cases of coronavirus in the state, Oregon Health Authority said on Friday.
The new cases include those that are confirmed and presumptive. They bring the state total to 5,377.
Among the new cases are nine in Clackamas, three in Columbia, two in Deschutes, three in Hood River, two in Jackson, two in Klamath, 14 in Lincoln, 29 in Marion, nine in Polk, five in Umatilla, four in Union, three in Wasco, and 21 in Washington.
There are also two new deaths, bringing the death toll to 173. A 96-year-old Washington County man and a 68-year-old Multnomah County man have died. OHA said they had underlying health conditions.
Two cases reported in Jefferson County have been determined to not be cases.
Recent models show transmission has increased since reopening began May 15, OHA said.
