EUGENE, Ore. – Oregonians 75 and older are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine starting today.

This comes as pharmacies are gearing up to start giving out vaccines as part of the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program.

So far, 5,000 appointments have been scheduled at 127 participating pharmacies statewide.

Many of them have only received 100 doses, but they’re told more are coming.

The Oregon Health Authority said expanding vaccination sites is an important step in speeding up the process.
