Oregonians urged to double-check tax withholdings

Some may need to have more money withheld.

Salem, Ore.-- Oregonians are being asked to double-check their paycheck withholdings, especially if they filled out  a federal W-4 in 2018.

It's to make sure enough money is being held to cover their 2018 income tax liability.

The oregon department of revenue tells KEZI that changes at the federal level now mean there's a larger difference between how federal and oregon income tax withholding is calculated.

That could mean people will have to pay more at the end of the year, if they don't have the right amount withheld.

If you're concerned about your withholdings, there is an Oregon withholding worksheet that can help you find out how much should be withheld.

You can find that link here.

In January of 2019, Oregon is expected to have its own new W-4, to avoid the same problem in the future.
