LANE COUNTY-- An outdoor burn ban is in place for Lane County beginning Sunday.
According to Lane Regional Air Protection Agency, the ban applies to all outdoor burning activities.

The ban was created in response to the spread of COVID-19 in Lane County. They say smoke in the air can worsen respiratory symptoms and lengthen recovery times.
There is potential for the ban to be extended, officials said.
Alternatives to burning, such as recycling paper products, placing vegetation in a compost pile or reusing old lumber is encouraged.
