SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- The Pac-12 CEO Group made a decision this week after a new round of concerns about playing college football due to coronavirus.
On Tuesday, a meeting among the conference presidents and CEOs led to the cancellation of sports in the fall of 2020 and the suspension of all athletic competition until Jan. 1, 2021. This means non-conference basketball schedules will also be scrapped as well.
According to reports, the Pac-12 presidents voted unanimously to cancel the fall sports season.
Up to this point, the Pac-12 had opted to play a 10 game conference schedule starting Sept. 26 with a Dec. 19 conference title game.
This move comes after the Big Ten announced the postponement of fall sports, including football, to the spring as well.
