Pastor near Cascade Middle School lends a helping hand

EUGENE, Ore. – During the chaos at Cascade Middle School Friday morning, a pastor at a church right across the street rushed to the scene to help.

Frances Osborne, co-pastor at Allison Park Christian Church said she was sitting at home watching the news, when she learned of the incident. She said she immediately left her house to help.

“There were a ton of parents holding each other, mommies were crying,” Osborn said. “Some were just frustrated because they wanted answers, but they couldn't get answers."

Osborne said she was happy to provide any answers she could.

She directed parents to Saint Mark’s Catholic Church where they were able to pick up their kids.

"You hurt for people you see them hurting,” she said. “I'm a hugger and I just wanted to hug everyone and tell them it'll be okay."

She said she will continue to help where help is needed.

"It's really hard,” she said. “You send your child to school thinking they'll be safe and they shouldn’t have to endure grown up things. it's just heartbreaking.”
