EUGENE, Ore. – Dean is an energetic young pit bull terrier mix who will need a yard where he can run around, play with toys and get lots of exercise.

He will be a good companion to take along on a hike, a run, or other outdoor adventures. Some basic obedience training is recommended for this spirited guy. Dean should go to an active household with older children who can help with setting boundaries and training. He should be the only pet in the family.

Dean is just over a year old and weighs about 50 pounds. He has a beautiful tan coat and four white socks. He arrived at Greenhill Humane Society on Feb. 28, as a transfer from another animal shelter. His fee is $200, which helps pay for shelter expenses such as vaccinations, microchip identification, spaying or neutering, a certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more.

Dean was Tuesday’s Pet of the Week on KEZI 9 News. Every Tuesday, KEZI showcases a homeless pet on the Midday newscast at 11 a.m. and again at 4 p.m.

If you are interested in Dean or the other animals at Greenhill Humane Society, more information is available here.

Greenhill Humane Society is located at 88530 Green Hill Road and is open daily by appointment only from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Its phone number is 541-689-1503. Adoptions are currently by appointment only.

To ensure a good match is made, potential adopters must go to the animal shelter in person to meet with the animal and kennel staff. All family members should be present to ensure the animal is compatible with everyone in the household.
