EUGENE, Ore. – Mya is a 12-year-old dog whose calm, loving personality has won the hearts of staff members at First Avenue Shelter.

Mya arrived at the animal shelter as a stray. She enjoys getting treats and craves attention from the people around her. Her ideal home will be one where she can get lots of attention.

She can go to a family with older children who would respect her age and not play too rough.

Her history with other dogs isn’t known, but she did well when she met a dog at the shelter and could probably go to a family with another respectful, mellow dog. She would need to meet the dog at the shelter before going home.

She would probably also do ok with a cat if introductions are slow.

Mya weighs 49 pounds and her fee is $85. This includes the cost of vaccinations, microchip identification, spaying or neutering, a certificate for a free veterinary exam and more.

Mya visited KEZI 9 News on Tuesday as Pet of the Week. Every Tuesday, KEZI showcases homeless pets on the Midday newscast at 11 a.m. If you are interested in Mya or other animals at First Avenue Shelter or Greenhill Humane Society, click here.
