EUGENE, Ore. – A man reportedly caught on camera punching a store employee in Eugene has been cited, police say.
Police identified Marshall Blansett, 32, of Eugene in connection with the incident, which circulated on social media.
At about 9:30 on May 2, officers responded to La Mota Dispensary, 1291 West 7th Avenue.
Police said a customer called police after Blansett refused to wear a face covering after being asked multiple times to do so. He also reportedly refused to leave.
Blansett was allegedly at the business for a half an hour before walking into the lobby area. Police said the manager tried to shove Blansett completely into the lobby so he could pull the door shut and lock him out.
However, Blansett reportedly turned around and shoved him. He came back inside and then shoved the manager to the floor and punched him, police said. Another staff member was also shoved, they added. Blansett then left.
Police said they received an anonymous tip, and Blansett agreed to meet with an officer. He was cited for assault, harassment, and second-degree criminal trespassing.
