Police: Two dead on Hawkins Lane after standoff

Authorities responded to Hawkins Lane at about 2:30 p.m.

EUGENE, Ore. -- Eugene Police announced Thursday evening that two people have died following reports of shots fired Hawkins Lane.

EPD said police responded to a reports of shots fired related to a possible domestic incident in the 2600 block of Hawkins. There were multiple teams responding due to information about shots fired. 

Police said Crisis Negotiation attempted to make contact but that didn't work.  Police said they were able to get a family member living in the basement out of the home safely with no injuries. Police said SWAT entered the home and located two deceased individuals just before 5 p.m. The identities have not been released.

EPD said there are no outstanding suspects or threat to the neighborhood.
