SPRINGFIELD, Ore.-- Police arrested a man after a chase through Springfield Sunday afternoon.
Officials say that the chase began at around 2:20 p.m. on Sunday at Main Street and Pioneer Parkway when 28-year-old Orion Clemons allegedly hit another car. Officers saw Clemons drive away and began pursuing him.
The chase led officers onto Highway 126, where officials say Clemons was going up to 80 miles per hour. The chase ended in the parking lot of Harbor Freight on Mohawk Boulevard where officers used a PIT maneuver to stop Clemons's vehicle.
He was taken into custody on multiple counts of hit and run with property damage, among other pending charges.
Officials say Clemons also has multiple open warrants in Lane, Benton and Linn Counties for failure to appear on charges including DUII, unlawful possession of heroin and theft.
