The intersection was closed for about five hours for the investigation. Members of the Corvallis Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team responded.

Investigators said video and witness accounts indicate the bus had been at a stop in the westernmost lane of Southwest 3rd Street and had started to turn left onto Southwest Western Boulevard when the light turned green. At the same time, Geil entered the crosswalk, in accordance with a valid signal, and was hit by the bus.

Police say the driver stopped and remained at the scene. The man is cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing.

No charges or citations have been issued at this time.
