COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. -- Two people were shot Thursday morning near the north end of Cottage Grove Lake.
Lane County Sheriff’s Office said both were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators said the incident started as an argument between a landlord and a tenant Thursday morning at 75822 Shortridge Hill Road.
Deputies responded to an emergency call about a gunshot wound at 7:49 a.m. While enroute a second emergency call was received. Responding deputies found one adult with a gunshot wound in front of the house, and that person was taken to a nearby ambulance.
Deputies then made contact with another person with a gunshot wound at the same location. That person was also transported to the hospital. One of the victims was transported to the hospital by life flight helicopter, and the other was taken by ambulance.
The two were taken to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend.
The identities of the people involved are being withheld while LCSO and Oregon State Police investigate. The sheriff's office said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
