Police seek public’s help to solve tire slashing case

EUGENE, Ore. – Residents in South Eugene have reported 17 tire slashings since Sunday, Eugene Police said.

The incidents happened in the 4600 block of Hillside Drive, on West Amazon Drive and in the university area.

EPD has taken reports on 11 incidents, and has six residents still awaiting contact by police, for a total of 17 reports.

Investigators believe the crimes occurred between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m., and several victims reported hearing loud music. One witness heard music and saw a beige sedan stop and saw one person get out of the car and appear to tamper with a parked vehicle before getting back inside and driving off.
