Police seek teen witness in Eugene shooting case

Police arrived to the area of Willamette Gardens after reports of gunshots on May 24, 2021.

The 18-year-old was reportedly in the area of Willamette Gardens at the time of the shooting, and police said he has an unrelated warrant for his arrest.

EUGENE, Ore. -- Police are seeking a teen believed to have witnessed a shooting in the area of the Willamette Gardens apartment complex in Eugene last week.

A male victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries on May 24.

Jadquinn Cole, 18, of Eugene was reported in the area during the incident. Police say he has an unrelated warrant for his arrest.

While initial information indicated that the gunshots came from a vehicle, no witness observation, video or evidence has confirmed this, police said. Officers are working to locate additional witnesses.
