EUGENE, Ore. – Two officers were injured in an incident in Eugene on Tuesday, and police are looking for witnesses.

The Eugene Police Department said the officers responded to Looking Glass Regional Crisis Center, 440 River Road, at about 10 a.m. An unknown man was at the north end of a back building, and the center wanted to have him trespassed.

The officers reportedly went to contact the man, who ran into traffic. Once they caught up to him, he fought with them, police said. Both officers were injured and taken to a local hospital, but their injuries were not life threatening.

Suspect Justin Riddle, 29, was arrested on two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of recklessly endangering, resisting arrest, interfering with a police officer, second-degree disorderly conduct, and second-degree criminal trespass.

If you witnessed the incident, police ask you to contact Officer Trevor Hart at THart@eugene.or.gov or by calling 541-654-1242.
