Tilton is believed to be armed and dangerous. He has a criminal history that includes being convicted of eluding, resisting arrest, forgery, recklessly endangering another person and criminal mischief, among other charges in the early 2000s.

Police believe he is staying in an area west of Eugene, where he may have fled after leaving his car in Junction City.

If you see Tilton, call 911 immediately.

Tilton is accused of arguing with a woman in the parking lot of Fred Meyer on Division Avenue before shooting into her car and possibly forcing her into his car and driving away.

The chase led police to Junction City, and two cars were found during the investigation.

Springfield resident Denise Hager said that there is a chance she has seen Tilton around her apartment complex.

“He did look a little familiar,” Hager said. “It seems like I’ve seen him riding a bike around, maybe.”

She said she is close with her neighbors and that they look out for each other.

“It’s kind of scary, and it makes you more aware of your surroundings,” Hager said.

On Saturday, the woman was found safe, but police said she is not cooperating with their investigation.

“At this point, we're still trying to determine the nature of the interaction and what occurred in that incident,” Capt. Shawn Adams said. “We've had some conversation with the woman, but we've not had an in-depth interview yet to determine the exact nature of what occurred. One thing we do know is that she is no longer, in our opinion, in any danger."

Police said the suspect and victim know each other.
