EUGENE, Ore. -- Following the release of the Lane County District Attorney’s decision Thursday in the officer-involved shooting outside Cascade Middle School earlier this month, the Eugene police union and Civil Liberties Defense Center have issued statements.

District Attorney Patricia Perlow’s report indicated that the officer’s use of deadly force against Charles Landeros on Jan. 11 was self-defense and defense of others, and therefore legally justified.
