ELKTON, Ore. -- The Elkton School District is on a two-hour delay Tuesday, as crews work to restore power to the area after a winter storm damaged power lines, causing scattered power outages throughout the Willamette Valley.
As of Tuesday morning about 1,500 customers were still without power in Douglas County.
According to Elkton school officials, schools have been using generators, but many people living on the outskirts of town still don't have power, including some school staff.
The school district plans to return to normal operations on Wednesday, including preschool and all other activities.
Douglas Electric Cooperative expects to have power restored to everyone in the next few days.
