EUGENE, Ore. -- People gathered in protest over the death of George Floyd for the fourth night in a row in Eugene.

The protest began with a couple hundred people at about 9 p.m. in the area of Monroe Park. The group then headed east.

A temporary curfew was ordered for the downtown area, effective at 10 p.m., and protesters moved out of the designated zone. The curfew is set to end Tuesday at 6 a.m.

The curfew will extend to the city of Eugene at midnight, ending at 6 a.m.

At about 11 p.m. on Monday, protesters were moving south on Hilyard Street, and cars were honking their horns as they passed by.

There was a short standoff with police during the night in which protesters kneeled to the ground and said, "Don't shoot." Police issued warnings about the curfew and about obstructing traffic.
