EUGENE, Ore. -- Hundreds gathered for the sixth night of peaceful protests over the death of George Floyd at the hands of a police officer.
Police said the protest started at the federal courthouse around 6 p.m. and moved south to 30th Avenue. They then walked north to the Lane County Jail where speeches were given.
The crowd grew to well over 1,000 people at one point with people pouring onto the streets from nearby apartments.
Former officer Derek Chauvin now faces a charge of second-degree murder in Floyd's death. The three other officers who were at the scene face charges of aiding and abetting second-degree murder and manslaughter.
