KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -- The Oregon Health Authority has re-issued the recreational use health advisory for Upper Klamath Lake after monitoring confirmed the presence of a cyanobacteria bloom.

The advisory for the lake, located 15 miles west of Klamath Falls, was originally issued June 15 and lifted on Friday, June 22.

OHA said in a news release Monday that the most recent sampling data show toxin levels above recreational guidelines.

People should avoid areas where blooms are identified, and drinking water directly from the lake is especially dangerous, officials said.
