CORVALLIS, Ore. -- There is a planting party planned in Corvallis this weekend to put in more than 1,500 new shrubs and native grasses.

The Corvallis Sustainability Coalition Water Action Team is hoping to regenerate the Dunawi Creek headwaters back to its status as a fish-bearing creek.

Now, the site is part of the city’s Bald Hill Natural Area.

The new plants will strengthen the soil structure and help produce a healthy, functional creek.

The planting party is happening Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.

If you want to register, you need to do it in advance and get directions. You can go to sustainablecorvallis.org
