Reward offered for elk poaching

Investigators are seeking the public's help in locating the person responsible for an illegal killing of a spike elk.

ALBANY, Ore --  Many hunters are outraged over the illegal killing of a spike elk in Linn County.

The Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Division says the elk was discovered Sat., November 25,  off of Soda Fork Road near Harter Mountain.  Officers say elk that was shot with a rifle and the meat was taken. The elk appeared to have been shot the day prior.

A reward is being offered by the Oregon Hunters Association through the Turn-in-Poachers (TIP) program for any information leading to an arrest in this or any other wildlife case. Callers can remain anonymous. The TIP program number is 1-800-452-7888.
