ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Roseburg Fire Station #1 on Harvard Avenue has made a temporary move for a seismic retrofit.

The retrofit will allow crews to make the building safer in case of an earthquake.

In June, KEZI 9 News reported that Roseburg Station #3 on Garden Valley had to relocate for the same reason.

The move for the Harvard station is the second half of the seismic rehab.

Roseburg Fire Chief Gary Garrisi said it could take three months to get the work done.

“We’re hoping three to four months would be the maximum,” Garrisi said. “This project is going to be a little bit bigger than the station three seismic remodel, in that they’re going to be doing some roof work. So, it won’t be opened up for a little bit longer.”

The fire station has been temporarily relocated to Stewart Park in Roseburg, just across from the playground area.
