ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Roseburg Public Schools added dinner items to their "grab-and-go” meals Monday.
The dinner includes a ready-to-heat dinner component with a fruit or vegetable. District staff said each bag will come with instructions on how to heat the dinner portion.
Students will receive the dinner portion when they pick up their breakfast and lunch on-site or when they're delivered to them by bus.
“This is just another thing that the school, local school district, Roseburg Public schools is doing for our kids in our community,” said Kyle Micken, nutrition service director for Roseburg Public Schools. “Just to say that we’re here for you guys, we support you, and to support the families in our community.”
Micken said dinner portions will start in the Winston-Dillard School District next week.
Meals are available to all students up to age 18.
