DILLARD, Ore. – A Roseburg man has been cited, accused of driving drunk in a crash that injured a Eugene woman.
Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash in the 9000 block of Old Highway 99 South near Dillard at about 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday.
When authorities arrived, they found a Toyota Tacoma in a ditch.
Driver Jesse Gardner, 35, was headed south when he drifted off the road and into a ditch, coming to a rest against a culvert, deputies said.
Fire and EMS crews freed a female passenger from the pickup and transported her to Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries.
Gardner was also taken to the center to be treated and was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, reckless endangering and assault. Due to his injuries, deputies cited him, and he was released.
The Winston-Dillard Fire District, Douglas County Fire District #2, Winston Police Department and Roseburg Towing assisted the sheriff’s office.
