ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Roseburg residents will have to work around the city's upcoming slurry seal project happening on 13 streets around Roseburg over the next three days.

That slurry seal project is part of the city’s annual pavement management project.

Those 13 streets will be sealed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Four streets will be done on Tuesday, six more on Wednesday, and the final three will be completed on Thursday.

Here is the schedule for the project:

During that time, mail will not be able to be delivered to the homes where work is being done.

It will be delivered the next day, or you can go to the post office.

Roseburg Disposal is also asking customers to have their trash cans and recycling out on their curb by six in the morning on Wednesday.

Cars won’t be allowed on the streets during the project, but resident Karen Finlay said she and her neighbors will manage.

“Well, I think everyone will probably move their cars the night before, either to Sunberry or Delridge,” Finlay said. “If they’re off to work, they’ll just make sure their vehicles are in a place where they can get in and out.”

She also said she doesn’t mind the minor inconvenience and is glad her tax dollars are being used well.

“We pay high taxes here in Roseburg, and it’s nice to see our tax dollars at work,” Finlay said. “I’m sure there’s other areas of Roseburg that need street repairs as well, but I’m glad they’re getting it taken care of now.”

Once the project in your area has been completed, the city asks that you stay off of those recently sealed roads, whether it be by car, bike, or by foot, for the next four to six hours to make sure that it sets.
