Roseburg woman reported missing is found safe

The woman was found by detectives in Washington state.

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg woman who had been reported missing has been located safe in Washington state.

Linda Rene Smith was reported missing on Dec. 11. 

Sgt. Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Smith had left the Roseburg area on her own and was located by sheriff's detectives in Washington.

The sheriff's office had asked for the public's help to find the 60-year-old woman. Her roommate had reported her missing and told authorities she left her home in the Green District of Roseburg with a male companion on Dec. 8.

Officials said Smith had told her roommate that she would only be gone for a few days.
