SPRINGFIELD, Ore.-- The Springfield Economic Development Agency approved the purchase of a half-acre of the private property Monday night.
The board gave the green light for the city manager to negotiate the purchase of the land for no more than $688,000. This property is in the same area where two developers are bidding to build along the Willamette River waterfront. The property will then be sold to the developers for construction.
The Economic Development Agency still hasn't decided on which developer they want to build on the property. However, this is a sign the city is moving forward with the Glenwood Development project despite push back from some community members.
