EUGENE, Ore. – Hundreds of students at South Eugene High School walked out of class Friday afternoon to protest allegations of sexual assault at the school.
Eugene police said they are investigating the allegations.
Students marched in front of the school and later stood in front of the building.
Principal Andy Dey said the school’s job is to make sure students are safe.
“We know that students face these things, we know that whether we talk about it or not we have students at this school that are likely to be faced with assaultive situations and we do not want that to happen,” Dey said.
He said if anyone has information about allegations of sexual assault, the school will respond immediately.
