EUGENE, Ore -- SNAP recipients will now have access to healthier food options.
The Oregon Food Bank is helping farmers' markets match SNAP funds with Double Up Food Bucks.
The program aims to increase low income shoppers' ability to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. SNAP customers can now get more fruits and vegetables when using the Oregon Trail Card SNAP dollars at participating farmers' markets. For example, if you spend 10 SNAP dollars at a participating farmers market, you get another $10 to buy more locally grown fruits and vegetables.
There are more than 20 participating farmers' markets in western Oregon. Click here for a complete list.
