ROSEBURG, Ore.-- Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center has reopened for adoptions this week after briefly closing last week.

Visitors will not be allowed inside the building to look at the animals to allow for social distancing.

However, staff are asking people to look at available pets on their website and potential adopters can meet the animals by appointment.

They will have an isolated meeting space inside the building for cats, which will be sanitized after a visit.

Dogs will be brought to the parking lot to meet with the potential adopter.

Staff say their new method has been a huge adjustment for both employees and visitors.

“We really appreciate this community stepping forward to help us,” said Wendy Kang, executive director of Saving Grace. “So as best we can, we continue to work for the animals.”

Kang said they are offering 50% off adoption fees until further notice.
