ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A false report of a school threat put Joseph Lane Middle School on lockout Thursday in Roseburg.
Several Jo Lane students reported that they saw three people, a female and two males, armed with a handgun and “assault rifles” who said they were going to come back and “shoot up the school.”
The school was placed on lockdown at 11:56 a.m., and nearby Geneva Academy was also placed on lockdown.
Authorities searched the area and determined that the report was false.
Both schools removed the lockout at 1 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
