I-5 southbound reopens near Albany after semi crash

The cleanup was expected to take several hours.

ALBANY, Ore. -- A semi-truck crash early Wednesday morning closed southbound lanes of Interstate 5 at Highway 20 near Albany. The road reopened by 10:30 a.m.

Oregon State Police said the driver of the semi was taken to the hospital.

An ODOT spokesperson said the crash involved a semi carrying pipes which spilled out on the road.

Officials said the crash has been removed.
