Benton County crash shuts down Highway 20 for hours

The crash happened at 1:30 a.m. and the highway reopened shortly before 7 a.m.

BENTON COUNTY, Ore. -- A crash involving two semi-trucks on U.S. Highway 20 near milepost 42 shut down traffic in both directions for hours.

This happened 9 miles west of Philomath at about 1:30 a.m. on Friday. ODOT officials say a semi-truck slid sideways, blocking the road, and a second semi-truck slid into it. Crews worked overnight to clear the scene. The highway had reopened by 6:45 a.m.

The condition of the drivers is unknown.
