Semi-truck fire causes traffic delays in Eugene

The flames were reported on Sunday just after 10:20 p.m. when the truck’s trailer became engulfed in flames.

EUGENE, Ore. – There were traffic delays Sunday night going into Monday morning after a semi-truck caught fire on Interstate 5 northbound at exit 194.

The flames were reported on Sunday just after 10:20 p.m. when the truck’s trailer became engulfed in flames. Oregon State Police said the driver pulled over and unhooked the cab before the trailer became completely engulfed in flames. They said the trailer was full of cauliflower. 

The incident caused a 20-minute traffic delay for drivers in the area. Delays were no longer reported for the area after 5:30 a.m. Monday.

No one was injured in the fire, officials said. The driver was fine. 

The fire remains under investigation.
