EUGENE, Ore. -- At the Serenity Lane awards breakfast next week, members of the community who work in drug and alcohol treatment will receive recognition for their accomplishments.
Serenity Lane said they are recognizing Nicholas Crapser for his efforts in growing mental health programs, mentoring staff and building community partnerships to expand the care being offered to patients.

Crapser is the deputy director at Sponsors, which provides housing, employment, counseling, and mentoring for those who have recently been released from prison.
"Those 450 people that I mentioned, that we help at this particular campus, quite possibly would've been released homeless if they didn't have sponsors to come to," Crapser said.
Crapser has worked at Sponsors for 13 years now and said his passion to help those struggling with addiction and mental health remains strong.
