CORVALLIS, Ore. -- A shop and shed caught fire on Monday in Corvallis. Fire crews said the residents in the nearby home escaped without injuries.

The Corvallis Fire Department responded to a call of a structure fire in the 5700 block of NW Oak Creek Road. They said a passerby knocked on the door of a nearby home to alert the residents before calling 911.

When firefighters arrived, they found a shop and shed on fire. The shop was about 10 feet away from a single-family home. Firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading to the home.

Fire crews said the shed sustained significant damage and the shop sustained moderate fire damage. No one was injured.

They are investigating the cause of the fire but they believe it was accidental and involved a small refrigerator.
