LEBANON, Ore. -- Authorities have arrested a transient in connection with a fire that occurred Feb. 7 at a residence in the 300 block of Russell Street.

Joshua Lee Laub, 29, of Lebanon was arrested at 6 a.m. Thursday, Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley reports.

After the Lebanon Fire Department put out the fire, investigators determined the cause to be arson.

The residence was in foreclosure, and no one was living there at the time of the fire. The fire caused more than $75,000 in damage.

Investigators identified Laub as a person of interest after receiving tips from the public. Authorities interviewed him, and he confessed to starting the fire.
