COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. – Three people were injured in a shooting on Monday near the Lane and Douglas county border.
The Lane County Sheriff’s Office responded at about 2 a.m. to a home in the 72900 block of London Road south of Cottage Grove.
One victim was taken to the hospital by helicopter and two others were transported by ambulance.
Deputies arrested Boudie Lancaster, 44, of Cottage Grove. He faces two counts of first-degree assault, one count of second-degree assault, and one count of felon in possession of a weapon.
One neighbor told KEZI 9 News that they are still in shock over the incident.
“It brings me great sadness for this time we are living in," said Gretchen Spears. "It’s such a sad thing to see these things happen.”
Others said they weren't shocked at all.
“When I saw that it was that particular neighbor, I was not terribly surprised," said Lani Wright.
The sheriff's office thanked the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Oregon State Police, Eugene Police Department, South Lane Fire and Life Flight for their help.
